Special
remarks/Cypress Course
Don't
miss this one!
Initially
built for the Chrylser Team Championship PGA Tour Event,
the course was opened in 1989, and is played around the
Big Blue Preserve at Palm Beach Polo. The back nine of
this hidden gem are tailored for T.V. Golf and the last
four challenging holes feature stadium greens.
This fast
and demanding masterpiece was designed by the partnership
of Pete Dye and his son, P.B., and has long been hailed as
one of the best Pete Dye designs. Pete was inducted into
the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2009 and P.B. is a long
time resident of Palm Beach Polo Golf & Country Club.
During
construction, some 50,000 cubic yards of earth were moved
and landforms were used in equal parts to assist and
challenge the golfer. With vast expanses of sand, finger
bunkers, and undulating greens surrounded by water, this
course is sure to leave you visually stimulated on each
and every shot. It was designed to create many changes in
elevations and vistas.
Crowned
greens and carefully placed bunkers in the strategic
layout test both the long and short game. There are dips
and swales, collection areas around the greens, some of
them sloping with false fronts. These features combine to
provide a course that is both challenging and enjoyable,
with 18-holes that will not disappoint – “the way golf
was meant to be played”.
Special remarks/Dunes Course
As beautiful as it is interesting; lots
of water, million dollar homes and an
occasional alligator can make your day even
more interesting! Great greens, perfect
fairways. A must play.
